My Reflection/Personal Insights/Comments

I decide to enter in the teaching profession because, as far as I can remember ever since I was a child, I wish to be one. As I grew up, it just long gone until I finished with a Computer related course for four years. But still something’s missing, I just realized now, that I really have the passion and love of teaching. So now, I'm happy that I choose teaching as a profession because I can teach to all ages specially children. I can say I will enjoy the job so much and my happiness reaches its utmost degree when I can deliver a lesson and I feel it resulted in a great effect on my pupils. I feel that I open windows for them and lower walls in their realm of education.  Yes, it’s a sacred profession: a profession of giving more than waiting to take. It is indeed a great experience to be a teacher by God’s grace if given a chance, to be loved by your pupils who expect to learn from you.

As for me, Teaching is an academic process by which students are motivated to learn in ways that make a sustained, substantial, and positive influence on how they think, act, and feel and a process that elevates students to a level where they learn deeply and remarkably because of teacher attributes. Teaching is not only a matter of methodology but a perfect understanding between a teacher and a pupil. Teacher serves as bridge between him and his pupils then the teaching process would be so easy to achieve. If one loves his job, he will excel in it and succeed in it.  Love what you do then you'll succeed. It's a spiritual feeling that arises between a teacher and a pupil. I know, I need to experience more in order to fulfil my goal to teach, I’ll do my best to never have lose hope because teaching is the most sacred one.

There are lots of techniques and strategies to meet student’s needs. If I were a teacher I would use different activities that will cover the learning process holistically and a plan that will utilize to obtain the objectives that I set for students to reach. One of them is to set appropriate learning goals and objectives and communicates them clearly; demonstrates a positive attitude toward and trust in students and continually works to overcome obstacles that might subvert learning; evaluates and grades student work fairly and promptly; encourages students to think and empowers them to find their own creativity like oral recitations; promotes a wide range of ideas and the open expression of diverse opinions while maintaining an atmosphere of integrity, civility and respect ; guides students successfully through exploration of the creative, critical thinking, and problem solving processes and helps students grapple with ideas and information they need to develop their own understanding like group games, groups projects, interactive discussion, cooperative learning and many more; promotes student self discovery; pursues teaching and learning as scholarly activities ;exhibits a strong sense of commitment to the academic community in addition to personal success in the classroom; provide on a regular basis, constructive and objective feedback to students and finds unique and creative ways to connect students to each other.

I can say this are the effective ways to find out what is their special skills are or what kind of learner they are. Activities, materials and assessment tools must be sync with objectives so it will smooth flow all throughout the period. We can’t leave out anything because they are all important. The plan must be complete or the system would fall apart. We have to consider everything because all these things are part of the teaching learning process.

I want to be remembered by my students as a friend, a sister, a mother, who always understands their inadequacies, their shortcomings, their mistakes. I want to be remembered as a teacher who taught her students to rise above their problems and shortcomings. I want them to remember me as their teacher who is willing to make sacrifices for them to achieve their goals and for them to find a good place in our society. Consequently, I want to be remembered as a teacher with a great heart, imbued with all the necessary faculties and values of a responsible and dedicated public servant with honesty and integrity nobody can question. I do believe every person wants to be remembered with a distinct mark. Be it negative or positive.

I do believe teaching is a valuable career because one of the biggest reasons I decide to become teachers is because I enjoy kids and want to change lives. My personal characteristics and approach to teaching gives impact on the learning and development of my students. I will make sure that my presence in the class gives an aura that makes the students well-behaved it’s not because I am a terror teacher but because they are willing to learn from me. Through the use of different approach, it does benefit to the students to take responsibility for their learning. Students learn in different ways and vary in their abilities to perform certain task. Understanding that each student has unique strengths and weaknesses related to the ways in which they approach learning is an important component of effective education. And be guided by teacher as well, I know it’s not an easy journey in the field of education career, but with this experience it will improve myself and enhance more my capabilities and skills as well as my well being physically, mentally, emotionally and above all spiritually. It’s just the beginning step of the way but still there are more challenging task to be encounter and challenges to face .But I’m proud to say I started to gain more confidence and embraced the beauty of teaching.
